Our Community

We are a church community that is passionate about helping you thrive in your life with Jesus. We believe that God is calling us to rediscover the heart of the early Church. The world, including many Christians in churches, is at a crossroads – with people searching for authentic community, mature faith and equipping to help live out our faith in our everyday lives!

“The Lord said to his people: “You are standing at the crossroads. So consider your path. Ask where the old, reliable paths are. Ask where the path is that leads to blessing and follow it. If you do, you will find rest for your souls.”

-Jeremiah‬ 6‬:16a‬ NET‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

As Thrive Community, our prayer is that we would follow the reliable paths of God that lead to blessing and rest for our souls. Our values flow from the following foundational truths:

The roots of our lives - Life with Jesus

“But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.” Jeremiah‬ 17‬:7‬-8‬ NLT‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

We believe that true life is rooted and grounded in trusting God and knowing the love of Jesus (Ephesians 3:17). The primary purpose of the church is to help you keep moving forward in your life with Jesus (Ephesians 4:12). This is why everything we do as a community is done with a passion to see people grow in their everyday, personal relationship with Jesus.

Our lives branch out - Growing in community and in destiny

“In Him [and in fellowship with one another] you also are being built together into a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.” Ephesians‬ 2‬:22‬ AMP‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

We believe that everyone was designed by God to belong and be a part of a church community (Ephesians 4:16). Our lives find deeper meaning and purpose when we branch out of ourselves, develop authentic relationships with others and find everyday opportunities to use the gifts and talents God has given every one of us. This is why we’re committed to being a community where everyone has a voice and is empowered to discover and fulfil their personal God-given destiny.

Fully-grown spiritual maturity - Growing to be like Jesus

s

“This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ.” Ephesians‬ 4‬:13‬ NLT‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

We believe that the primary purpose of the Christian life is to become more and more like Jesus in our everyday lives. This is why, more than growing in numbers or influence, our heart as a community is to grow in spiritual maturity. By the grace of God, our prayer is that we would be a community of people who are being transformed into the image of Christ (2 Corinthians 3:18).

What we believe

As a church community, we believe in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament of the Bible and as further expressed in the Apostles’ and Nicene Creeds.

The following statement of faith is a summary of our key beliefs.

  • We value the Bible as the full revelation of Jesus Christ, and we believe that God will fulfill every promise contained in Scripture (2 Timothy 3:16). We believe the Bible is accurate, authoritative, and applicable in our everyday lives.

  • We believe in one eternal God who is the Creator of all things. He exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. He is loving and completely holy.

  • We believe in having a relationship with the Father through Jesus Christ, with a commitment and seek to serve Jesus as Lord through the whole of our lives (Acts 2:36)

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ as both God and man is the only One who can reconcile us to God. He lived a sinless and exemplary life, died on the cross in our place, rose again and ascended into Heaven to prove His victory and empower us for life. We believe that in order to receive forgiveness and the ‘new birth’ we must repent of our sins, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and submit to His will for our lives.

  • We believe in the empowering of the Holy Spirit as our source of living a Christ-like life, and further transforming us into the image of Christ. We seek to develop and operate in all the gifts and graces of the Spirit given by God as supernatural equipment for the ongoing ministry of Jesus (Acts 1:8)

  • We believe in fulfilling the Great Commission given by Jesus to His followers -  to preach the gospel to every person, seeking to draw them to become His disciples  (Matthew 28:18 – 20)
